Bretford Manufacturing, Inc., a supplier of technology and media furniture, today introduced the industry’s first fully UL-certified line of flat panel carts primarily for K-12 educational environments.
The new FPBBUL Series Flat Panel Wide-Body Carts provide a combination of extreme safety, stability and strength necessary to protect people -- especially small children -- from harm and the flat panel technology equipment from damage. The new carts are part of Bretford’s full commercial A/V furniture offering.
According to Dave Smith, Product Manager for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc., “Safety is critical where children are present. Many schools are now replacing old CRT TVs with flat panel monitors, which require an entirely different cart design. Unfortunately, schools are finding creative ways to hold the monitors in place, like using safety belts designed to go around the cabinet of a CRT monitor and not the base of a flat panel. This is dangerous and can lead to injury and equipment damage.”
Bretford’s FPBBUL Series carts, instead, integrate the flat panel monitor into the cart design by mounting it directly to the pole on the top shelf of the cart. The carts are designed to safely hold any size LCD or plasma display weighing up to 85 pounds while offering a simple method of transporting a flat panel monitor with a DVD player, speakers or other audio visual equipment from one location to another.
