If you have a need for A/V equipment, a mass notification system, network equipment, telecom services, computers, printers, software, interactive whiteboards, document imaging, data storage or a host of other commodities and services linked to technology, then you may want to consider utilizing The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) contracts.
TCPN competitively bids and awards contracts to a host of technology vendors making it seamless for governmental entities to purchase the products and services they want with almost immediate delivery.
“Our contracts make state-of-the-art technology accessible to governmental entities and saves them the soft costs associated with the procurement process,” states Jason Wickel, Director of TCPN. “We have contracts with many large national vendors like CDW-G, AT&T, Dell, GovConnection, Promethean, Xerox, as well as many emerging technology companies. We consider TCPN the leader in bringing affordable 21st century technology to our schools,” Wickel adds. He also says technology contracts are TCPN’s fastest growing commodity.
Take for example, on April 23, in Fort Worth, Texas, school trustees voted to buy almost $23 million in interactive whiteboards for 5,000 classrooms as part of a recent bond package. A 22-member committee recommended the Promethean system to Fort Worth schools. Administrators expect the whiteboards to be in essentially every district classroom by the end of 2010. The vote allowed administrators to negotiate to purchase Promethean, Inc. interactive whiteboard systems through The Cooperative Purchasing Network contract.
Another TCPN awarded contract holder, LenSec, was selected to provide a district-wide IP video surveillance solution for El Paso ISD April 8. El Paso ISD will install the LenSec system, which enables quick emergency response, in all middle and high schools in the district at a cost of $2 million.
According to Victor Araiza, El Paso ISD Police Chief, “We needed a comprehensive platform for crisis response that can help us stop an incident before it even occurs. With this new video surveillance system, EPISD police personnel can proactively monitor all secondary campuses in a matter of seconds.”
Alan Morris, Regional Sales Director of LenSec, states, “The Cooperative Purchasing Network contract made it easy and efficient for El Paso ISD to purchase the system they needed and ensure we could meet their installation timeline. Everyone wins in this situation.”
When it comes to technology, TCPN wants kids to win! With more than 250 contracts—75 of them technology—currently utilized in 45 states, these unique contracts really will help you build a 21st century learning environment.
